Annual open-air May Day Concert at Le Tholonet
followed by aperitifs & optional picnic
May kicks off this year's concert season with a second chance to hear echoes of the first part of the Centenary concert programme performed last December, including Rossini's William Tell overture and Artie Shaw's Jazz Clarinet Concerto, in which the soloist will be the President of the Harmonie, Julien Gaillard. New works will include, among others, a humorous tribute to Spike Jones and a medley of themes by Henry Mancini, notably the ever popular Pink Panther. |

Bob Chilcott sang and composed music for twelve years with the King's Singers, and his Little Jazz Mass, an original & soulful concert setting for mixed voices of the Latin Missa brevis, embraces a variety of jazz styles in its five movements, ranging from swing to blues. It was written to include piano and optional bass accompaniment, both of which it will have in this performance.

A second chance to catch this original musical creation for the Harmonie Municipale by French composer, pianist and 'cellist Julien Joubert, Professor at the Conservatoire of Orléans specialising in Formation Musicale, piano and singing and the co-ordination of musical shows.
